The desire to portray part of the authentic Morocco far from the familiar tourist destinations led me many times in a vehicle and on horseback to the southwestern Sahara and remote town of Rissani.  Rissani: Gateway to the Sahara is the first photography book to focus on the life of this small town adjacent to the vast desert. The photographs capture my intimate experiences of the people, the surrounding dwellings, and the Sahara, often inaccessible or overlooked by Westerners.
